Rationale 1: In this course, I picked a research topic, went through CITI training, obtained IRB approval, and di research on how online learning environments can enhance collaboration.Throughout this course, I worked on the entire action research process and evaluated my writing, my research and my teaching.I actively worked with the students and reflect upon the research outcomes to better my teaching strategies.
KSD Knowledge 9.K.3 The teacher is aware of major areas of research on teaching and other resources for professional learning (e.g. professional literature, colleagues, professional associations, professional development activities).
Through the action research process I obtained many professional journal articles surrounding my research topic. Each article I approved for my literature review portion of the paper made me more aware of the research on teaching with technology.
Skills 9.S.2 The teacher uses classroom observation, information about students, cultural, social, and philosophical frameworks, and research as sources for evaluating the outcomes of teaching and learning and as a basis for reflecting on and revising practice.
Throughout the semester, I create online polls and surveys reflecting on curriculum activities. These results have helped to revise future curriculum activities. After researching online learning environments, I was able to incorporate activities to enhance student success while using them.

As I contemplated continuing my education to the masters level, I thought about the fact that people today must be life long learners.I am committed to seeking out the best practices in teachingto the individual’s needs.
